A 3d artist can take their skills to next level by using
ZBrush with a
Wacom Tablet. This base mesh was built in Maya using traditional modelling tools. Large scale changes that would be time consuming in Maya can quickly be made in ZBrush.
It is important to have proper edge loops so that any additional detail flows with the existing topology. Zbrush does have Re-Topology tools but having a clean model to begin with can make production more efficient.
Where ZBrush really shines is its ability to add fine details. You can increase Subdivision Levels, adding complexity at each step. Wrinkles and skin folds were sculpted into the geometry and the skin texture was created using an Alpha Brush.
